ABOUT FLYBACK TRANSFORMER

A flyback transformer is a coupled inductor with a rifted core. In every rotation, when the input voltage is put in the primary winding, energy is stored in the space of the core. Flyback transformers are used in providing voltage transformation and circuit isolation in flyback converters. A flyback transformer is so called because the primary winding requires a relatively low-voltage saw-tooth wave. The wave gets spowerful first and then gets switched off suddenly; this causes the beam on the display to fly back from right to left. TV and monitor flyback transformers have about ten pins at the bottom of the flyback. Shah Electronics manufactures ferrite coils for these flyback transformers.
