- Inductive sensors
The principle of electromagnetic induction is used for inductive sensors to detect and measure parametric values. Magnetic field is developed by an inductor when a current flows through it and as the current flow through the circuit magnetic field through it changes. Various applications of inductive sensors are coil magnetometer, inductive proximity sensor, etc. To know which types of inductive sensors to buy, we first have to know the working and then the characteristics of a good inductive sensor. The working of inductive sensors happen in two ways i.e., sensing ferrous metals by increasing the permeability of magnetic core and due to induced Eddy currents in non ferrous metals there is an option of energy which helps in the working of inductive sensors. The main features that has to be looked for inductive sensors is that it can be used only by metal parts, it should be resistant and robust to difficult weather conditions.
