An electronic gas lighter generates a high voltage across of spark gap which one close to the gas would ignite it. Along with its durable nature, it is also economical as compared to the mechanical gas lighters. it works on the principle of the piezoelectric effect. It is nothing but the conversion of mechanical stress into an electrical signal. It is also sometimes referred to as a plasma lighter or an electric arc lighter. due to the presence of a quartz crystal in its lighter produces a spark between the tip and body of the lighter. By mistake you touch the lighter body while pressing the switch there are chances of getting a light shock due to its high voltage carrying capacity.
